It is time for a new season of the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA). The famous awards franchise is up for its 10th edition. It's said by analysts that SIIMA award ceremonies, year after year, have been the greatest and most-viewed film awards show in South India, enjoying a wide reach to the tune of 50%.
The upcoming edition is going to be held in Bengaluru on Sept 10 and 11. In this regard, nominations have been announced by the SIIMA team.
In Telugu, Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa: The Rise' (in all, the Sukumar directorial has received 12 nominations) is dominant, while Dhanush's 'Karnan' has bagged the most nominations in Tamil.
'Akhanda', another Telugu-language blockbuster of 2021, received 10 nominations, followed by 'Uppena' and 'Jathi Ratnalu', which have got 8 nominations each.
Tollywood has the distinction of showing the potential of winning awards for four of the best movies belonging to different genres.
"The winners are chosen by an online voting system. Fans can vote for their favorite stars and movies on www.siima.in and the Facebook page of SIIMA," the organizers said.
