Wife asked me to get updated: Puri Jagannadh

Puri Jagannadh shared an interesting anecdote between him and his wife Lavanya while speaking at a 'Liger' event on Sunday. The 'Pokiri' director revealed that his wife had asked him in 2017 to get updated.

"One day, my wife admonished me, saying that I had been falling behind the curve at a time when new directors are making new-age films. She asked me to watch Sandeep Vanga's 'Arjun Reddy'. By then, she and our daughter had watched it thrice. I sat down to watch the movie and was mesmerized by Vijay Deverakonda's performance in it. So much so, 45 minutes into the film, I hit the pause button and started ruminating about Vijay's acting skills. He was so natural and focused in the film," Puri said.

Puri's speech proves that he doesn't quite watch the latest movies. Most filmmakers keep themselves abreast with the latest trends in cinema and story-telling. The 'iSmart Shankar' director may have reformed himself on this front of late, though.

'Liger', co-starring Mike Tyson, Ananya Panday and Ramya Krishna, will hit the cinemas on Aug 25.
