The Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce today urged the producers of Tollywood not to release movies directly on OTT till October end. President Murali Mohan said that all producers have to take the decision unanimously. "If the exhibition sector continues to be in a bad shape even till then, then you may opt for OTT," he added.

Secretary Suniel Narang said, "A lot of producers have asked me what is our demand. As things stand, everything will be back to normal by the first week of August. It is understandable if small producers sell their movies to OTTs. But why should big names, too, do it? I am both a distributor and a producer. I am not selling movies to OTTs. More than producers, distributors, and exhibitors are suffering due to the pandemic. My movie 'Love Story' has received 10 OTT offers. But we have decided to release it only in theatres. A lot of heroes don't like their movies to choose the OTT way. Their support is with us. OTTs are not going to give huge offers once theatres are reopened."

Vijayendar Reddy said that distributors are buying movies only because producers assure them that the OTT release will happen only after a gap of 10 weeks (from the date a theatrical release happens). He alleged that OTTs are killing the distribution and exhibition sector.

Abhishek Nama said, "A lot of people are dependent on the consumer buying a ticket to buy a movie."
