Veteran singer cum music director J V Raghavulu is no more. He was 82. Raghavulu took his last breath at 4 AM on Friday in his Rajahmundry residence.
J V Raghavulu worked with greats like Ghantasala, M S Vishwanathan, K V Mahadevan, Dasari Narayana Rao, D Ramanaidu and Kodi Ramakrishna as a singer and music director. He sang in more than 100 films and composed music for about 172 films. Some of the ever green songs which he tuned are ‘Janani Janma Bhoomischa...’, Into Ramayya Veedhilo Krishnayya’, ‘Veena Naadi…Theega Naadi’, etc. He is Late Ghantasala’s favourite student who worked under him for over a period of 18 years. Tollywood film fraternity has sent its condolences to J V Raghavulu’s family soon after learning about his death.
