Urvasi Sarada, the beautiful yesteryear actress who won the prestigious national award 3 times and many other awards so far in her film career, is now going to receive another prestigious award on the name of N T Rama Rao. Andhra Pradesh government will honor the actress with this national award on the auspicious day of Ugadi. Sarada did many critically acclaimed roles in several films and touched the hearts of Telugu audiences.
While Sarada’s debut film was ‘Kanyasulkam’ in 1955, some of her milestone films in Telugu are ‘Triveni’, ‘Jeevitha Chakram’, ‘Devudu Chesina Manushulu’, ‘Balipeetam’, ‘Sharada’, ‘Nimajjanam’ (received National Award for Best Actress), ‘Daana Veera Soora Karna’, ‘Gorintaku’, ‘Karthika Deepam’, ‘Nyayam Kavali’, ‘Swathi’, ‘Anasuyammagari Alludu’, ‘Justice Chowdary’, ‘Sardar Paparayudu’, ‘President Gari Abbayi’, ‘Killer’, ‘Major Chandrakanth’, ‘Sankranthi’, etc. Apart from this Sarada acted in several Malayalam films and also won two National awards for two of her Malayalam films – ‘Thulabaram’ and ‘Swayamvaram’.
