Surya as cojoined twins

Tamil actor Surya portrayed several variety roles including the dual role in his film career, but for the first time he is going to be seen as a cojoined twins in his forthcoming bilingual film ‘Duplicate’ (Maatraan in Tamil). Cojoined twins are identical twins whose bodies are joined in utero. This is a real challenge for Surya in his film career.

K V Anand is wielding megaphone for this film. The duo has earlier delivered Kollywood’s biggest box office hit through ‘Ayan’ (Veedokkade in Telugu). The trailer of ‘Maatraan’ was recently released in Chennai. According to director K V Anand, “Duplicate is the film based on the life history of cojoined twins Chang and Eing in Thailand. “I cannot imagine any other actor than Surya in these characters. He is really working hard and performing each scene for 3-4 times. Even though I wanted to do this film with Surya before taking ‘Veedokkade’ on the sets, it did not materialize at that time,” director Anand added.

Surya too opined that every scene in this film will be different when compared to his earlier films. Right now the film is under post-productions. The major part of the film was shot in Europe.

Kajal Agarwal is playing the female lead role opposite Surya. Harris Jayraj is scoring music and camera is cranked by S Sounder Rajan. Telugu version ‘Duplicate’ is being produced by Bellamkonda Suresh.
