Prasanna Kumar held a press meet in Hyderabad to discuss about the present situation in the film industry. According to him, digital technology must be given the prominence due to increase in piracy and lack of theaters. He said, “It is becoming very difficult for any producer to release the film in theaters based on present situations. At times the locals channels are telecasting the films even before the prints reach a few theaters belonging to ‘C’ grade centres. Hence digital technique is the only effective way to eradicate the piracy problem. The government should provide the digital technology to theaters.”
Chairman of Producers Section Natti Kumar said, “So far three companies have shown interest to facilitate theaters with digital movie screens. Apart from them, one more company has come forward to provide this facility free of cost. Our top priority would be this company which understood the requirements of the producers, distributors as well as the exhibitors.”
