'First Day First Show' is the title of a comedy entertainer starring Srikanth Reddy and Sanchita Bashu in lead roles. Poornodaya Movie Creations' Srija Edida is bankrolling the comedy. The comedy will head to theatres on September 2. In this interview, writer Anudeep KV (of 'Jathi Ratnalu' fame) talks about the film's directors Vamsidhar Goud and Lakshmi Narayana P, working with a relatively fresh pair, the comedy quotient in his movies, 'Prince' (his Diwali release with Sivakarthikeyan), his plans to approach Victory Venkatesh, and more. He also says that he has got plans to do a sequel to 'Jathi Ratnalu'.

The concept of 'FDFS' had been in my mind for many years. I wanted to write a story that is in a new space, set in the backdrop of cinema craze. The sensibilities are not regular. It is as realistic as possible in terms of how fans in small towns do their best to catch their favourite star's movie FDFS. Its lead actor Srikanth Reddy has been a friend of mine.

I don't have commercial calculations in mind while writing or doing a film. I do what gives me a kick. My original plan was to direct 'FDFS' myself. I later deputed the responsibility to Vamsi and Lakshmi Narayana due to some reasons. The latter was roped in after Vamsi told me he needs a helping hand to handle the project. Even though I am not its director, I got involved in a lot of crafts - be it music, editing or other crafts.

The expectations from a film like 'FDFS' will be different from that from a 'Jathi Ratnalu', whose casting was known to the audience. 'FDFS' will surely exceed the expectations of the audience. This film needed fresh faces. The actress Sanchita was spotted on social media.

The entire story of 'FDFS' takes place over a span of a few days. It's a tough job to write a tight screenplay for such a premise. It is going to be on me whether this film clicks or not since the film is my brainchild.

When I wanted to do 'FDFS' in the backdrop of a theatre, I didn't have 'Kushi' in mind. I mooted films like 'Simhadri' and 'Pokiri'. I then zeroed in on 'Kushi' given its genre and other factors. I have always loved Venkatesh garu, Pawan Kalyan garu as an audience member.

Sivakarthikeyan's 'Prince' takes place in the backdrop of Puducherry. It's a love story. But for a song, the entire shoot is over. It is a Diwali release. This is a love story and has also got a message.

I am planning to pitch a storyline to Venkatesh garu. The film is a blend of emotions and comedy. If he likes the story, it will be my immediate film after 'Prince'.

As a filmmaker, I like all genres barring horror and violence. Life after 'Jathi Ratnalu' has obviously been different, considering it was a big hit. I have plans to make a sequel to 'Jathi Ratnalu' in 3-4 years. I have got some ideas.
