The action in Akhanda 2 is awe-inspiring: Action directors Ram and Laxman

Akhanda 2 surpasses Akhanda in a lot of ways, say action directors Ram-Laxman in their latest interview. Ahead of the movie's theatrical release on December 5, they talk about the film's highlights, including Nandamuri Balakrishna's 'nata vishwaroopam'. Produced by 14 Reels Plus' Ram Achanta and Gopichand Achanta, the film has music by Thaman.

Since the hero is a supernaturally-empowered character, the antagonist has to be befitting. In that sense, Aadhi Pinisetty's character is extraordinary. His getup is something that will awe the audience. As per the story, he is the yin to the hero's yan; they represent the polar opposites of energy centres. As such, the action involving them mirrors the fight between two opposing forces. Filming scenes during the Kumbh Mela was a unique experience.

We have worked with Balayya garu on Simha and Legend before, among many other movies. You will get goosebumps when you watch the action in Akhanda 2. Only he could have played a character infused with divine prowess.

The span and canvas of this film exceed that of Akhanda. Right from the beginning, the director intended to make this film on a pan-India level and crafted everything very grandly. You must have seen the action sequence in the teaser/trailer featuring a gun and a trishul. The action sequence was composed with the kind of power that results when the power of a trishul and the power of Lord Shiva combine with that gun.

The producers at 14 Reels Plus encouraged us to film every action sequence grandly so that the film could be taken to an outstanding level on a pan-India scale.

Balakrishna garu always has a desire to appear authentic to his fans and entertain them, so he performed every shot himself. He did 99% of the work in this movie. This is because the character demands it; he had to do it.
