Kiran Abbavaram awaits the theatrical release of 'Nenu Meeku Baaga Kavalsinavaadini'. A commercial entertainer directed by Sridhar Gade, the film is produced by Kodi Ramakrishna's daughter Kodi Divya Deepthi. In this interview, the young producer talks about teaming up with the 'SR Kalyanamandapam' and 'Sammathame' actor, her plans a producer, and more.

Movies have always been my only interest. For long, my interest lay in the direction department. My foray into the next step was delayed. I assisted my father in several movies. My mother was not in favour of me entering the film industry, though. On the other hand, my father wanted me to do as I wanted. After my marriage, I started showing an inclination toward production, thanks to the encouragement by my husband.

I have a responsibility not to spoil my father's name. My father always believed in giving the producer a bang for the buck. A producer must ensure that the money invested is visible in terms of quality. As a producer, I stayed away from the temptation of over-spending. I was thoughtful throughout and implemented the lessons my father taught me. I didn't splurge anything, nor did I compromise on quality.

I was supposed to team up with Kiran even before 'Raja Vaaru Rani Vaaru'. My father suffered from a heart stroke around that time and I couldn't focus on films. I told Kiran to look for another project. I didn't expect that 'SR Kalyanamandapam' would become a big hit. His market has definitely grown.

There are good turning points, strong plot points, and healthy entertainment in 'Nenu Meeku Baaga Kavalsinavaadini'. There is no message for the sake of it. The film is in the last leg of principal photography. The incidents that happen between the lead pair come with a touch of suspense. SV Krishna Reddy garu has played the hero's father. It's a commercial family entertainer.

The teaser will be released in Palakollu on July 10. The plan is to release the movie on September 9.

Kiran is a perfect fit for this film. The director and hero share a strong rapport. Since the director has also been an Editor, he knows the audience's pulse better. He knows when a scene works and doesn't. Mani Sharma garu has given his trademark music. All six songs are really good!

My father wanted to do a good-quality movie with newcomers but he couldn't do it. He didn't do graphics-heavy movies just like that. When a director comes to me, I look at whether he has a captivating idea, an idea that can keep the audience excited. I have no plans as such to remake any of my father's movies. Nor have I got any sequels in mind. Ideas have to happen organically. I am learning on the job as a producer.

Some scripts suit only OTT because they might not draw the audience to theatres even if they are good.
