The final wait is over and the much anticipated film ‘Manam’ is hitting screens today, May 23, 2014. The entire crew is eager to see the audience’s reaction and so do our charming lady Samantha, who has played two roles in it. “I get nervous during the release of my every film, but ‘Manam’ is surfacing more tension than my earlier films. Read this interview to find out what Samantha has to say about her experience with ‘Manam’ and team.
We would like to hear a few words about ‘Manam’ from you. 
Aside of the role being desirable as an actress, ‘Manam’ is an important film for me because it has refreshed me thoroughly. I thank my director and producer for choosing me to be part of it. I usually do not commit to a film without the information about makers or my costars. Nevertheless the story of ‘Manam’ touched my heart so much that I instantly gave my nod. ‘Manam’ is such a wonderful film that I would have certainly done it even if the director, producer and my costars were someone else. I’m very happy that the film is being released in theaters today and I’m sure everyone will enjoy it.
What was your role in the film?
I played two characters in this film. While one is a mother role Krishna, the other is a bubbly girl character Priya.

How do you take compliments and criticisms?
I generally don’t accept compliments. However, one compliment which I received from Nageshwara Rao garu during the success meet of ‘Ye Maya Chesave’ is unforgettable. His speech has given me so much energy that whenever I get a feel of insecurity, I listen to his speech in Youtube. When it comes to criticism, I’m the main critic for myself because I get ideas while preparing for my roles. So I ask for another take when I’m not completely satisfied with my work.
You are a successful actress with maximum hits in Telugu. What was the time when you got the feeling of insecurity?
Yes, success comes with talent, appearance and luck. It’s not just me, any actor or actress will experience the feel of insecurity at different times for various reasons.
Having got the opportunity to work with Nageshwara Rao garu, what did you learn from him?
I consider myself lucky for sharing the screen space with Nageswara Rao garu, although it is just three to four scenes. He is very lively on sets by cracking jokes. That energy in him only made us always think that he is young even during his age. He never interfered in anything nor did he give suggestions during shootings.
What was it like working with director Vikram Kumar?
The first two days of the shoot had put me in confusion. But gradually got used to his working style. His approach is very clear. He has got good vision on every scene that he shoots.
You are working with Naga Chaitanya for the third time. Therefore you must have built a good rapport with him by now.
Yes, ‘Manam’ is the third film in our combination. Obviously, my comfort level has increased. We are good friends too. During our first film ‘Ye Maya Chesave’, Chaitanya gave me good support in scenes that had huge dialogues.
And this is the first time you worked with Shriya. So we would like to hear a few words about her too?
Shriya is much senior to me in acting. She played a very good role in 'Manam' and will be seen glamorously. I’m sure she would earn a good name in this film.
One quick answer from you. Your opinion about Akkineni family.
Akkineni family gives a reserved feeling to unknwon people. But they are all actually friendly people and keep cracking jokes on each other.
Which is your favourite scene of all in ‘Manam’?
It’s the hospital scene which I had to perform it in different levels. It wouldn’t have been possible without the guidance from director Vikram. That’s my most unforgettable scene.
One last question. What would you want audience to take away from the film 'Manam'?
‘Manam’ is of course, intended to be entertaining, but it was also designed to educate audience about the importance of human relations, which otherwise are gradually fading away. Also I always feel that the audience should not just enjoy and forget the characters I play in films. I want my characters to be remembered forever
