Kantara: Chapter 1 trailer: Mixed reactions from movie lovers

The trailer for Kantara: Chapter 1 has sparked discussions on social media, with the majority of reactions leaning positive but featuring a notable mix of critiques. A common complaint is that the trailer lacks a wow factor.

"While the visuals hint at grandeur, the execution feels routine and plain," a movie buff wrote. This criticism has been echoed by several other netizens.

Since Kantara became a blockbuster at a time when nobody knew Rishab Shetty or about the film itself before its release outside Karnataka, the prequel was expected to feature standout moments.

Fans, however, are excited for the mythological prequel set in 300 CE. Going by the trailer, writer-director Rishab Shetty has successfully "blended rituals, supernatural forces, and tribal struggles". The challenge lies in not making them seem generic.

Kantara: Chapter 1, co-starring Gulshan Devaiah and Rukmini Vasanth, features larger-than-life war scenes that were shot across 25 acres over 45-50 days. The movie will head to theatres on October 2nd.
