Pooja Hegde was the original choice to play the role of Sita in Hanu Raghavapudi's Sita Ramam, but she later withdrew due to scheduling conflicts with other commitments, such as Bollywood films. Consequently, Mrunal Thakur was cast in the role of Sita. To be frank, the Maharshi actress wouldn't have done justice to the author-backed role in Sita Ramam. Known for glamorous roles, she has barely excelled in performance-centric parts.
Years later, the Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo actress is looking at another performance-centric role in a Dulquer movie. The Retro and Acharya actress is set to star opposite Dulquer in the upcoming romance drama 'DQ41', directed by Ravi Nelakuditi.
As per some reports, Pooja Hegde will be seen in most of the scenes in the untitled movie. And since it is a romantic drama, her performance will have to match up to Dulquer's. If not, it will weaken the aesthetic flavour of whole scenes. If she carries it off well, she will get another chance to revive her southern film career.
Pooja Hegde recently stole the show when Monica was released by the makers of Coolie.
