A Christian organization has reportedly called for a boycott of Sree Vishnu's movies because they allegedly mock Christianity. The religious organization, affiliated with an unnamed Church, is "offended" by select dialogues in Vishnu's recent movies - SWAG and Single.
"We are deeply hurt by his continuous mockery and targeted hatred aimed at undermining Christianity and Jesus through his films. Doesn’t his religion have flaws? Why don’t he make movies about them?" the organization has been quoted as saying by Daily Culture.
When SWAG was released last year, many took note of Sree Vishnu's character showing his annoyance at a constable's religious conversions. The male lead says that the lure of inducements shouldn't make anyone want to convert out of one's religion. In Single, in a particular comedy scene, Vennela Kishore dons the get-up of a nun. Sree Vishnu is seen in the scene.
At the time of writing, Sree Vishnu didn't make any statement on the Christian organization's call for boycott.
