Critics call ‘Housefull 5’ the most idiotic, absurd movie

Bollywood film Housefull 5 has been roundly condemned by critics. The comedy entertainer, starring Akshay Kumar and others, has been termed juvenile by one and all. "Its actors steer this entertainment for imbeciles. Sporadically funny and unapologetically corny, Sajid Nadiadwala’s fifth instalment of the franchise flirts with disaster," wrote The Hindu.

NDTV panned the Tarun Mansukhani directorial even more harshly. "If only Housefull 5 wasn't so full of unalloyed bilge, it would not have come across as the kind of unbridled celebration of the ludicrous that it does. Let us make no bones: we did not sign up for this," its review argued.

Rediff described Housefull 5 as the most idiotic movie. "The movie treats logic like a disease and avoids it at all costs. There's no how or why to a single appearance or occurrence, it's just there. Problem is how unamusing this randomness is," film critic Sukanya Varma wrote.

Housefull 5 boasts an expansive ensemble cast, bringing back familiar faces alongside new additions. The core trio of Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Abhishek Bachchan lead it. They are joined by returning actresses like Jacqueline Fernandez and Nargis Fakhri, with Sonam Bajwa and Soundarya Sharma adding to the female contingent. The film also features a strong supporting lineup including veteran actors like Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Fardeen Khan, Chunky Panday, Johnny Lever, and Dino Morea.
