First Look: VISA to be a refreshing, contemporary tale

Ashok Galla, the nephew of Superstar Mahesh Babu, has tried a quirky comedy and an action drama before. This third film is going to be a compelling contemporary relationship comedy-drama set in the US.

Its first look bares the film's vibe. Titled 'VISA ~ Vintara Saradaga', the under-production movie "explores the lives of Indian students studying abroad".

Writer-director Udbhav Raghu's script tries to capture the "dreams, dilemmas, friendships, and heartfelt moments" of the US-based NRI Telugus. The treatment will be fun, grounded and yet quirky. The film's teaser, to be released this Saturday, is expected to give a taste of the treatment.

While Sri Gouri Priya is playing Ashok Galla's romantic interest, Rahul Vijay and Shivathmika Rajasekhar have prominent supporting roles. "The film reflects the highs and lows of student life overseas — from academic hustle and cultural shifts to unexpected romance and emotional challenges, making it a complete entertainer for the new generation," the director said.

Very few films, especially in southern India, have explored these dynamics and emerging trends. While the YouTube and OTT space have made some attempts before, VISA seems to be far more ambitious. Producer S Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments is known for enriching budgets.
