The other day, we reported that Netflix would be streaming some of the most-awaited Tollywood titles of the year such as Pawan Kalyan's OG, Vijay Deverakonda's 12th film, Ravi Teja's Mass Jathara, Nani's HIT 3, MAD Square, among others. These films will stream after their theatrical run.
Even in Tamil, Netflix is maintaining its dominance this year in the post-theatrical digital run sphere. The two superstar Ajith movies (read Vidaamuyarchi and Good Bad Ugly) have been bagged by the streaming giant. The digital rights to Kamal Haasan's Thug Life and Suriya-starrer Retro have also been bagged by Netflix.
Thug Life is directed by Mani Ratnam. It will head to theatres on June 5. The OTT release might happen in the second week of July. Suriya's Retro is directed by Karthik Subbaraj. It will hit the cinemas on May 1.
Netflix's dominance in Tamil continues from last year. Sivakarthikeyan-Sai Pallavi's Amaran, Thalapathy Vijay's GOAT, Vijay Sethupathi's Maharaja, and Karthi-Arvind Swami's Meiyazhagan were streamed on the platform after their theatrical run.
