The second teaser of Kannappa is more of a joke than serious business. If this is how the film is going to be, the makers can settle for sub-zero hype.
The film suffers from a noticeable lack of authenticity, with staged-looking battle scenes and costumes that appear more like theatrical props than realistic wartime attire. From Manchu Vishnu (do you know something shocking? He has written the story and screenplay) to Mukesh Rishi, Preity Mukundan and Mohanlal, everyone looks artificial. Mohan Babu is somewhat real. Prabhas, in a cameo, is expected to look fairly decent for his part.
The production design feels artificial. The costumes, in particular, appear too basic. Akshay Kumar and Kajal Aggarwal, as divine characters, look more human than before.
Kannappa is an April 25th release. Produced by Mohan Babu, the film has been directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, who might have learned direction on the sets of Gunasekhar's Shaakuntalam.
