Director Karunakaran shot to fame in a big way in the late 1990s when Pawan Kalyan's Tholi Prema became a sensational blockbuster. The classic was followed by dull films like Vasu and Yuvakudu from Karunakaran. His reunion with PK, Balu, was a flop. Prabhas' Darling remains his only notable film of repute. Ullasamga Utsahamga, a rom-com, was entertaining too.
For the past 15 years, Karunakaran hasn't had a hit. He has now reportedly been commissioned by producer Dil Raju. Ashish Reddy, Raju's nephew, will team up with Karunakaran if everything goes well.
Ashish Reddy made his debut with Rowdy Boys in 2022. Last year, he was seen in Love Me: If You Dare. The latter was a disaster.
Tej I Love You in 2018 was Karunakaran's last film. He is making a comeback after seven years. Will it work?
