Netizens say Sandeep Vanga indirectly criticized Rashmika, Anupama

Speaking at a Thandel event on Sunday, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga stated that Sai Pallavi is so unlike other actresses when it comes to sticking to her principle of not crossing a certain boundary.

"When I was searching for an actress to play Preethi in Arjun Reddy, someone who knew Sai Pallavi got in touch with me. I told him the romantic quotient in my film would be high. The coordinator told me Sai Pallavi doesn't even wear sleeveless dresses onscreen and so, I should forget about casting her. Other actresses have changed their paths after they bagged big movies. But Sai Pallavi has remained steadfast for the past ten years," Vanga said.

Netizens are of the view that he was indirectly mentioning Rashmika Mandanna in the main. Rashmika's Kannada film avatar in her early days used to be traditional because she did only family-friendly movies. In recent times, she has gone bolder, as the song Peelings in Pushpa 2 showed. Anupama Parameswara has done kissing scenes on screen after playing coy characters in her early movies like Premam, Netizens said.

There is an inherent hypocrisy in what Sandeep Vanga said, though. If he believes Sai Pallavi kinda actresses are superior, why write kissing and making out scenes in his movies? Cast "superior" actresses like Sai Pallavi and become another Sekhar Kammula.
