Allu Kanakaratnamma, the wife of legendary comedian Allu Ramalingaiah, passed away early Saturday morning due to age-related issues. She was 94.
The matriarch of the Allu family, Kanakaratnamma was the mother of producer Allu Aravind and the paternal grandmother of Allu Arjun. Her last rites are scheduled to take place at Kokapet later on Saturday.
Arrangements for the funeral are being overseen by her son, Allu Aravind, and Megastar Chiranjeevi. The latter reached the Allu residence early on Saturday, soon after he came to know of the news of her demise.
Allu Arjun is flying in from Mumbai, while Ram Charan, who was in Mysore for the shoot of the song Peddi, has canceled his schedule to return home. Both actors have temporarily suspended their film shoots.
Actor and Deputy CM of AP, Pawan Kalyan, will be personally extending his condolences to the Allu family, reportedly on Sunday. Since he is busy with official commitments in Vizag, he is unable to fly to Hyderabad.
