Allu Ramalingaiah was born on 1st October 1922, he is an Indian Telugu comic actor from Palakollu, who appeared in over 1000 Tollywood films.
Personal Life:
Before entering the films, he was starred in dramas with Praja Natya Mandali and was awarded Nritya Kala Mandali title "Kala Prapoorna Hasya. "Allu Ramalingiah was a doctor of homoeopathy and a freedom fighter.
The active sponsorship of the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust demonstrates his social work and compassion for others. He had his eyes given to the Chiranjeevi Eye Bank posthumously.
Career:
In 1953, Allu Ramalingaiah started his film career with Puttillu in 1953 and his last film was Jai in the year preceding his death.
In 1990, he was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India and in 2001 he was awarded the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award.
In classics like Mayabazar, Missamma, Muthyala Muggu, Sankarabharanam Saptapadi, Yamagola ("Taalamu vesitini, gollemu marachitini), allu played unforgettable roles as well as various 80s movies, in which he played with Raogopal Rao and Nagabhushanam a gentle and unhatted villain.
His humorous timing and his nasal voice defined his various comedy appearances.
Awards & Honours:
He is the second awardee of Padmashri after Relangi in 1970.
Padma Shri award by Government of India for his outstanding contribution to Telugu cinema as a comedy actor for the year 1990.
Filmfare Award South for Lifetime Achievement, awarded in 1999.
Rama Lingaiah statue is unveiled at Visakhapatnam Ramakrishna Beach and his at his home town Palakollu.
Raghupathi Venkaiah Award in the year 2001.
