Madharaasi is scheduled to hit the cinemas on September 5th. While its recently-released trailer was underwhelming, an interesting plot point is doing the rounds.
As per a theory, Sivakarthikeyan's character in the movie suffers from a mental disorder that triggers his brain whenever he sees anyone in trouble. Under the effect of the disorder, he sees them as one of his 14 family members he couldn't save.
It's believed that AR Murugadoss had pitched this line to Shah Rukh Khan. The illegal weapons backdrop and other aspects have been highlighted as a diversion, while the USP of the film is said to be the hero's psychological state.
Madharaasi, to be released in Telugu and Tamil prominently, is ARM's last big bet. If this film becomes a hit, his decade-long downfall will stand reversed to an extent. He might go on to team up with big Tamil names and, possibly, some Telugu hero too. If Madharaasi turns out to be a damp squib, his fall will be precipitous.
