Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu Title Glimpse: Does fan service but lacks originality

Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu is the title of the Chiranjeevi-Anil Ravipudi movie. Jointly produced by Sahu Garapati and Sushmita Konidela, the film attempts to bring back the vintage style of Chiru.

"Among Chiranjeevi garu's movies, I love Gharana Mogudu, Rowdy Alludu, and Gang Leader the most. It has always been my wish to unleash that Megastar on the big screen," Ravipudi said today.

So far, so good. However, the sensibility of the Title Glimpse doesn't hint at anything out of the blue. The tune we hear is largely borrowed. This is not wrong inherently, but even the most optimistic audiences out there wouldn't believe that the film will have something wildly satisfying in terms of a dedicated score to elevate the heroism. The suited-and-booted look and the gunmen behind the hero is a sensibility inspired by Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal.

The story of the film itself seems to follow the Baasha template, with the Ravipudi brand of comedic treatment as a topping.

Anil Ravipudi's movies, at first, look pretty ordinary and even jaded. Nobody had great expectations from F2 and Sankranthiki Vasthunam. But they became blockbusters. Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu, too, might belong to the same category. It could be a blast in theatres. For now, though, there is nothing exciting.
