Vishwambhara to Odela 2: Lies and damn lies about VFX

When the teaser of Vishwambhara was released last year, it received severe flak for its atrocious visuals. It was later claimed that AI was used for the teaser's visuals and that actual VFX in the film will be of a superior quality.

On Sunday, a rumour went out that Rs 75 Cr has been deployed by UV Creations to bring out the "best quality" VFX. Seventy five crores sounds like an astronomical figure for a Chiranjeevi movie. Vishwambhara may be a pan-Indian movie but Chiru is no Prabhas or Allu Arjun for the non-Telugu market. The VFX budget is highly exaggerated. Probably, the idea is to impress upon streaming giants that Vishwambhara is being made as a visual wonder.

At the so-called 'success meet' of Odela 2, creator Sampath Nandi claimed that his film marks a new chapter on the VFX front. "It is going to be before and after Odela 2. We were able to pull off awesome VFX at a relatively less budget," Sampath Nandi said about a film whose VFX is extremely below-par.

Wonder what is happening in Tollywood. Why are our filmmakers obsessed with lying about VFX by resorting to hyperbole and half-truths? The makers of Vishwambhara and Odela 2 have made their films a laughing stock.
