Sarangapani Jathakam is slated to head to theatres on April 25. The film's Trailer launch event was held in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad assured that the family comedy is going to be a guaranteed hit. He particularly mentioned the film's primary and secondary cast as assets. While Priyadarshi is the male lead, the "great family entertainer" is backed by talented comedians like Vennela Kishore and Viva Harsha. The producer also counts on Avasarala Srinivas, Vadlamani Srinivas, and VK Naresh to entertain the audience thoroughly. On the occasion, the senior producer (known for Aditya 369, Gentleman, Sammohanam and Yashoda) stated that a producer needs to completely believe in his product. He criticized the new trend of stakeholders giving primacy to director-hero combinations over content.
Actress Roopa Koduvayur suggested that her own career shift is proof that astrology has a place in our lives.A doctor in Vijayawada, she became an actor in Hyderabad because it was meant to be. "The twists in Sarangapani’s life make the film very entertaining. This will be a hat-trick hit for Priyadarshi. Director Indraganti is a gem," the actress added.
Director Mohanakrishna Indraganti revealed that the film has a crime angle. "Sarangapani Jathakam is a pure Telugu film with an all-Telugu cast and will entertain audiences in every way," he added. Earlier, he described the movie as an all-age entertainer. On the occasion, he reflected on the need to have a debate on whether "vulgar" dances should be encouraged in TV shows.
Actor Priyadarshi, known for Jathi Ratnalu, Mallesham, Balagam and Court, described the team behind the film as fantastic. "Just like how a cool breeze feels refreshing in the summer, this film gives you that same feeling. It’s a fun-filled family entertainer," the actor said.
Vennela Kishore made an interesting observation. He opined that SJ is what happens if Kamal Haasan's Pushpaka Vimanam were to be turned into a talkie movie. He praised Krishna Prasad and called Priyadarshi "dashing" after the success of Court, and lauded Roopa as a talented actress. He concluded by stating the film is a complete entertainer and urged everyone to watch it in theaters.
Viva Harsha compared Sridevi Movies to a university, with Krishna Prasad as the Dean and Indraganti as his favorite lecturer. He described his co-stars Darshi and Roopa as classmates and Vennela Kishore as a senior.
Vadlamani Srinivas shared that he plays Priyadarshi's father and is grateful to director Indraganti for the opportunity. He highlighted that the film offers wholesome entertainment amidst a trend of darker films and features an all-Telugu cast. He feels this father role is a "promotion" for him as an actor and thanked Indraganti again.
