Tamil superstar Rajinikanth is currently hospitalized in Chennai. As per national media news reports, he has been admitted to a private hospital for an "elective procedure", which is learned to be related to his heart. Elective procedures can be routine or some minimally invasive heart surgery.
At the moment, Rajini's health status is stable.

Rajinikanth awaits the theatrical release of 'Vettaiyan' on October 10. The film, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan and others, is directed by TJ Gnanavel. He is also doing 'Coolie', a film directed by star director Lokesh Kanagaraj. Kannada superstar Upendra and actress Shruti Haasan will also be seen in the 2025 release.
