'Bommarillu' was re-released in theatres today (September 21). It is topical to remember what happened on the sets of the classic on the first day of shoot.
Director Baskhar started filming with a nighttime scene, where the characters played by Genelia and Siddharth were supposed to enjoy a casual evening on a street. As the lead pair decided to grab some ice cream, Baskhar planned two close-up shots featuring Genelia. Despite numerous takes, the director was unable to achieve his desired result. The night wore on, and with growing frustration, Genelia eventually declared that she would like to leave the project.
Allu Arjun, who was coincidentally on set, intervened, persuading Genelia to reconsider her decision. He assured her that 'Bommarillu' would be a valuable addition to her career. Impressed by his words, Genelia changed her mind and continued with the project, as revealed by Baskhar in an interview. The 'Pushpa 2' actor held a special affinity for producer Dil Raju, as Sri Venkateswara Creations had launched him with 'Arya'.
