Earlier this year, Telangana state awards for film personalities and best Telugu movies started to be called Gaddar Awards. An announcement to this effect was made by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
Addressing a gathering today, Revanth Reddy said that, months after the announcement, there has been no attempt by the Telugu film industry to reach out to the administration. The government expects the industry to be proactive.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM further said, "The government is ready to give awards starting this December annually. I urge the film industry representatives to come up with their proposals. The first step has already been taken by the government. Gaddar Awards will be as prestigious as Nandi Awards."
Nandi Awards are given by the Andhra Pradesh government. The Gaddar Awards are yet to make their debut. Revanth Reddy's appeal is expected to be acted upon by Dil Raju and others now.
