'Hanu-Man' director clarifies about 'Bigger than Avatar' remark

In a recent interview, director Prasanth Varma said that he will be "immediately" launching a project that is going to be bigger than 'Avatar' (on the VFX front) if 'Hanu-Man' clicks commercially. The claim sounded bombastic and incredibly dumb. Many Netizens have been mocking the 'Zombie Reddy' director, asking him to not get carried away. 'Avatar', as is known, remains insuperable in a great many respects. Its director had to wait for years for the motion picture technology to evolve to make the recent 'Avatar: The Way Of Water'.

Varma today issued a clarification, suggesting that his remarks have been misconstrued. "If 'Hanu-Man' works well, it would potentially open doors for Indian filmmakers to explore ambitious VFX-driven projects like 'Avatar'. That’s my intention in the interview," the 'AWE' maker said. He further added, "Pursuing such creative aspirations is a testament to the industry's willingness to dream big and push our boundaries. Nothing wrong with dreaming big."

Well, nothing wrong in dreaming big, but saying things that are almost unattainable for Indian cinema for the next 10-15 years is unwise.
