Forced Kissing In 'Committee Kurrollu': Niharika Defends Controversial Element

'Committee Kurrollu' has been criticized by some for allegedly romanticizing forced kissing. A character named William embarrasses his girlfriend by kissing her in public places, among other things, without her consent. This lack of consent has sparked criticism from a section of viewers.

Producer Niharika Konidela defended the scene, stating, "William's girlfriend never says that she doesn't want to be kissed. She only says that she doesn't like him to kiss her when there is a clear risk of her parents spotting them."

While some viewers perceive William's actions as harassment, Niharika's defense downplays the issue. The reason why the girlfriend doesn't want to be kissed is irrelevant. The core of the criticism is that she doesn't want to be kissed and is being forced to endure it.

'Committee Kurrollu' is directed by Yadhu Vamsi. Niharika has made her feature film debut as a producer with the movie.
