'Jathi Ratnalu' director gets a clean chit from hero of flop movie

Last year, 'Prince' was released in Telugu and Tamil on a good scale. Its hero, Sivakarthikeyan, was in great form in Tamil at that time. Yet, the comedy entertainer turned out to be a flop. The failure has been a major setback for its director, KV Anudeep. After a blockbuster like 'Jathi Ratnalu', 'Prince' flopped heavily. Since then, he hasn't been able to firm up a project (for a variety of reasons).

In his latest interview, Sivakarthikeyan blamed the failure on himself, giving the director a clean chit. "If something went wrong with 'Prince', the blame is entirely on me. Had a budding actor headlined the film, it would have been a big hit," the Kollywood hero said.

In a way, the reading is right. Sivakarthikeyan's image was not suitable for the film after massive hits like 'Don'. The actor, after a hit like 'Maaveeran', will next be seen in 'Ayalaan' (Sankranthi release).

As for KV Anudeep, he won't be making straight Tamil films after what happened with 'Prince'. He will be doing a straight Telugu film next.
