Dull 'Operation Valentine' Teaser banks on patriotism, visuals

The teaser for 'Operation Valentine' was released on Monday. Shared digitally by Rana Daggubati and others, the war thriller has been directed by Shakti Pratap Singh Hada.

Varun Tej's career has been comprehensively down in the dumps. His 'Gadeevadhari Arjuna' was visually nice but the content was spectacularly dull. The teaser for 'Operation Valentine' feels much the same with no edge-of-the-seat moments.

The visuals are good and even breathtaking here and there, but the cut lacks force. Is it because the content lacks energy? We wouldn't know as yet. While nothing much can be made from a teaser, is it too much to expect a promising teaser for a high-stakes Telugu-Hindi bilingual?

Manushi Chhillar, it seems, is stuck in a cliched character. Her job is to motivate the heroic male lead with romance and probably sob when his patriotism prevents him from spending recreational time with her.

Produced by Sony Pictures International Productions and Sandeep Mudda, the film has dialogues by Sai Madhav Burra (on the face of it, the lines sound half-baked).

With the screenplay written by Shakti Pratap Singh Hada, Aamir Khan, and Siddharth Rajkumar, the film has music by Mickey J Meyer (whose BGM for the recent 'Pedha Kapu' was poor).
