Dr. Rajasekhar: Expection is 'Dhruva', Reality is 'Extra'

Dr. Rajaskehar's sense of judgment has been called into question by movie buffs after the release of 'Extra - Ordinary Man'. The action comedy, starring Nithiin, has flopped at the box office. The 'PSV Garuda Vega' actor played the role of an IG in it. His role looked decent on paper but the execution failed him. Perhaps, that's why he couldn't make the right judgment. A semi-funny cop who has a tryst with a junior artist is an interesting idea. Rajasekhar did the movie not only because he liked the story but also because his daughters (Shivani and Shivathmika) prodded him to.

With the movie biting the dust, it is opined that Rajasekhar took a misstep. He was offered 'Nene Raju Nene Mantri' by director Teja years ago. "I and Teja had disagreements over the nature of the climax. I didn't do the film because Teja was not ready to change the climax to my liking. He went on to do the film with Rana Daggubati," Rajasekhar once said.

Rajasekhar was waiting for films like 'Dhruva', wherein he liked Aravind Swamy's character. "My husband is not disinclined to play negative roles. If the role is well-written, he is game. He loves the way the antagonist was written in Ram Charan's 'Dhruva'," said Jeevitha in an interview before the release of 'Sekhar' last year.

One is reminded of the Expectations Vs Reality template memes.
