Producer Bunny Vasu and presenter Allu Aravind today launched their Geetha Arts offering 'Thandel', the pan-Indian project. The launch event was a grand one. The shoot of the film will commence on December 15. The details of the various schedules are yet to be divulged.
Speaking on the occasion, Allu Aravind said that the film's pre-production consumed a lot of time (18 months or thereabouts). He thanked director Chandoo Mondeti and the film's hero, Naga Chaitanya, for their patience and persistence. He added that heroine Sai Pallavi is as excited about the project as Chay, who was recently seen in the Amazon Prime Video series 'Dhootha'.
The makers are happy that Devi Sri Prasad (who is currently doing other biggies like 'Pushpa 2' and 'Kanguva') and Shamdat Sainuddin came on board to lend music and handle the cinematography department, respectively.
Chandoo Mondeti, who basked in the success of 'Kartikeya 2' last year, promised to give the best. His creative interventions radically transformed the tone of 'Thandel', a subject not originally conceived by him.
Sai Pallavi, who has previously done 'Love Story' with Chay, said that the core team of 'Thandel' is visionary.
Naga Chaitanya was pleased that his father Nagarjuna and uncle Venkatesh had made it to the event. "I enjoyed every step of the pre-production process," he added. The 'Laal Singh Chaddha' actor has worked on the Srikakulam dialect since he will be playing a boatman from the region in the 2024 release. Having previously done ‘100% Love' (directed by Sukumar) under the banner, Chay sounded upbeat. "It feels encouraging to act with Sai Pallavi, as she exudes a lot of positive energy. We have a good team," he added.
Bunny Vasu has been impressed by the fact that 'Thandel' draws its material from certain real-life incidents traversing geographical boundaries. Geetha Arts laid its hands on the script more than three years ago. After Chandoo came on board, the script acquired a new vigour. "We were initially worried whether Chaitanya's skin tone would set for the character of a fisherman. But we were surprised to see the first look poster," the producer of films like 'Bhale Bhale Mogadivoy' said, appreciating the Akkineni lad.
The speakers hinted that 'Thandel' is going to be a high-stakes multi-lingual release.
