The Netflix original, 'The Archies', has been streaming on the platform for the past couple of days. Suhana Khan (SRK's daughter) and Khushi Kapoor (Late Sridevi's daughter) play lead roles in it alongside Agastya Bachchan, the grandson of Amitabh Bachchan.
The performances of the female leads have been heavily pilloried by Netizens. "The bad part about 'The Archies' is not its cast, but director Zoya Akhtar blatantly lying that they were first auditioned and only then selected for their parts. There is no way Khushi Kapoor passed that! The dialogues were clearly written in English first and converted to Hindi," commented NJ on Twitter.
Another Netizen sarcastically described the two young girls as acting powerhouses. "It’s sad how these non-actors who are absolutely terrible get so much exposure and opportunities. Meanwhile, actual talented peeps are left behind," lamented a Netizen. "Talent need not necessarily be inherited, you can do theatre and learn acting. It's a craft but these people are just horrible, they don't even try," wrote Jags.
The newcomers have been trolled ruthlessly. One hopes all this won't affect their self-confidence.
