'Titanic', which went on to become the highest-grossing film in the world at that time, was described as a "hackneyed" film by LA Times. The critic also called it a completely derivative copy of old Hollywood romances. He then went on to opine that 'Titanic' lacked even minimal originality.
Time, too, wrote a mostly negative review. Salon noted that 'Titanic' came with zero sensitivity. These criticisms sound shockingly shallow today.
