'Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal' (Tamil) is being released as 'Kanmani Rambo Khatija' in Telugu on April 28. It stars Vijay Sethupathi as the hero.
A section of Netizens is saying that Nayanthara and Samantha Ruth Prabhu are looking gorgeous and fit in the trailer, while Vijay is looking somewhat chubby. Some feminists are hitting out at so-called patriarchal norms here. "Why are women expected to look pretty but men can just show up without having to care about how they look on screen?" This is what they are saying.
Then there are others who are defending the 'Uppena' actor. "Vijay doesn’t look good because he has aged or put on weight or has dark skin? you all gonna keep glorifying young men with abs and fair skin? TEAR THAT DOWN. Men are victims of beauty standards set by the society as much as any gender is. It shouldn’t be tolerated," a Twitter user wrote.
Another user, defending the 'Sye Raa' actor, wrote, "Shocked to see the casual body shaming aimed at men and everyone laughs it off, but you do the same thing with women and all hell breaks loose. Body positivity only applies when a woman is being insulted or trolled for her appearance."
