Can Nayanthara, Samantha reverse the negative sentiment?

The Tamil-language film 'Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal' is heading to theatres on April 28. Titled 'Kanmani Rambo Khatija' in Telugu (let's just call it 'KRK' to uncomplicate our lives), the film stars Vijay Sethupathi as the male lead. Nayanthara and Samantha Ruth Prabhu have played the female leads. Vignesh Shivan, Nayanthara's boyfriend, has directed the rom-com. Sree Gayatri Devi Films is releasing the movie in Telugu on April 28.

The past 2-3 years haven't been good for movies dubbed from Tamil. The one honourable exception is 'Varun Doctor', which became an unexpected hit last year.

The sentiment around Telugu-dubbed movies has been really low. Even Suriya's 'ET', Rajinikanth's 'Peddanna' and Karthi's 'Sulthan' flopped badly in Telugu in recent times. Where Tamil heroes have failed, can Nayanthara and Samantha prove to be lucky? We can't really count on Vijay Sethupathi despite his popularity among the Telugu audience. He has not tasted success as a solo hero in Telugu.

What is working in favour of 'KRK' is that it's a rom-com. Thank God that it's not an action movie. But there is bad news as well. It's going to compete with Chiranjeevi-Ram Charan's 'Acharya'.
