Nani gets aggressive, other stars to follow?

Natural Star Nani clearly wants to be in the news on a regular basis. On Wednesday, hours after Ante Sundaraniki's first song 'Panchakattu' was unveiled, Mythri Movie Makers hosted a party to announce its arrival. This is a rare occasion when a song from a medium-range movie got promoted this way. In fact, the song feels like a rehash of Vivek Sagar's previous songs. Its only highlight is the voice of Aruna Sairam, the feted Carnatic singer.

The call to promote the film by celebrating an average song might have been taken by the production house, whose position has been cemented beyond doubt by last year's blockbuster 'Pushpa'. That said, the push may have come from Nani as well.

Last year, in March, a 'Parichaya Vedika' was hosted by the team of 'Tuck Jagadish' even though the film was scheduled to be released a month later (the date got postponed due to the second wave).

Sometimes, promotions can look over the top. To this day, an event to celebrate the chartbuster 'Kalaavathi' ('Sarkaru Vaari Paata', too, is produced by Mythri Movie Makers) hasn't been held. In this context, Nani may be setting the tone for aggressive promotions. Will other actors, too, follow?
