Kapil Dev biopic, 83, which primarily focuses on India's first ever cricket world cup victory, is one of the most awaited films this year. But the movie has been postponed due to corona virus outbreak.
Recently, reports emerged that the producers are planning a direct OTT release to avoid further delay. But the team has clarified that though they have received lucrative offers from OTT platforms, they are only going to release the movie in the theaters no matter how much time it will take.
Director Kabir Khan says, "83 is a film that has been envisioned and made to be experienced on the big screen and we are ready to wait for things to get normal and then release it in cinemas."
Ranveer Singh plays Kapil Dev in this movie, presented by Reliance Entertainment and Phantom Films and produced by Deepika Padukone, Kabir Khan, Vishnu Induri, Sajid Nadiadwala, Kabir Khan films, Phantom Films, Reliance Entertainment, and 83 Film Ltd.
