Prestigious production house Annapurna Studios’ ‘Rangula Ratnam’ is releasing on January 14 as Sankranthi treat. On this occasion Nagarjuna interacted with media in a press meet held on Friday in Hyderabad. Chitra Shukla of ‘Maa Abbayi’ fame has paired up with Raj Tarun. The film is directed by Sri Ranjani. The film has music by Sricharan Pakala. The film also features Sitara and Priyadarshi in important roles.
Wishing everyone happy New Year and happy Sankranthi, Nagarjuna said, “We feel that ‘Rangula Ratnam’ is Sankranthi’s festive feast from our Annapurna Studios. The film will be so sweet like our Bobbatlu. It’s a real film carved with real elements. Emotions between mother and son, scenes between a guy and his fiancée and every element in the film are very close to reality. Luckily we got the slot for Sankranthi. The film can be watched by the whole family together. The film will make audience laugh and sometime make them get emotional.”
Revealing few details about the script, Nag said, “I have listened to this script a year back. I Okayed the script and asked my executive producer Supriya to take up the project. Later I may have listened over 100 scripts and forgot the story of this film. Recently, I watched ‘Rangula Ratnam’ as a spectator. I was very much impressed. It’s like a pleasant surprise. I just suggested them to cut the length of few scenes when I felt lengthy. I am sure the film will earn good name to our banner. I am happy that entire credit comes to me.”
About the director Sri Ranjani, Nagarjuna said, “Despite being new to direction, Sri Ranjani has carved out the film as an experienced director. She has perfectly presented mother’s emotions and girl’s emotions from girl’s point of view.”
Praising Raj Tarun’s acting, Nag said, “Earlier, we worked with Raj Tarun for the film ‘Uyyala Jampala’. He is a natural actor. He has given wonderful performance. He has an interesting accent.”
He added, “Heroine Chitra Shukla is very beautiful. Each and every artists in the film are looking natural. I wish all the best to the entire team. Priyadarshi will stand out as highlight for ‘Rangula Ratnam’. Sitara garu has perfectly dwelled into mother role. The mother and son relationship between Sitara and Raj Tarun came out wonderfully. She dubbed her lines excellently according to her expressions. ‘Rangula Ratnam’ is a sweet lovely film for this Sankranthi. Go and watch it and enjoy.”
