Diwali blockbuster ‘Kashmora’ that features Karthi, Nayanatara, Sri Divya and Vivek in lead roles, has hit the screens on October 28. The film had grand openings and is running successfully with a super hit talk. It stood as best hit film in Karthi’s career by grossing Rs 15 crores within one week. On this occasion, Karthi spoke to the media about the film’s success and shared his happiness. Young hero Karthi as the lead actor and gorgeous Nayanatara and Sri Divya as lead heroines, this huge budget film was made under PVP Cinema and Dream Warrior Pictures banners with Pearl V Potluri, Pram V Potluri, Kevin Anne, SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu as producers.

I didn’t expect such huge response:

I didn’t expect such a huge response from audience. ‘Kaashmora’ is a socio fantasy film which has ample scope to perform. It’s not a regular concept film. As the film is a blend of comedy and horror, audience are enjoying the first half. Second half has the historical part. Raj Nayak character is well received by audience. It’s the journey of two and half years. It’s not a simple thing to present Raj Nayak character without head. We can imagine a story, but presenting it on the screen is very difficult. We are very happy with the response from the audience. I am thankful to audience for making the film a big success.

We didn’t compare ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Kashmora’:

After the release of ‘Baahubali’, it has set a new trend. So that we have re-worked on war sequences and sets.

I like both the characters:

The character Kashmora was shown in a very different way. The character, which is very serious in the starting, has cheated everyone by turning into hilarious. The style of the character and how he behaves when he went into Raj Nayak’s palace is very hilarious. Kashmora getup should be very new and different in such a way that no one should recognise that it is Karthi. The character’s costume is of 40 kg weight. I have to wear it and show my villainism through face expression. The way the director has presented the three characters on screen is really superb.

My brother lauded the film:

My brother Surya watched the film in theater with audience. Interval block has left him in splits. He said that he didn’t laugh this much from the recent past. He was thrilled after watching the second half. He posted a letter in the social media praising the film and the unit to the skies.

Highlights:

Visual graphics played a major role in the film. A dog chasing hero, moulding a kingdom and costumes and everything is being appreciated by movie buffs. First half was canned within 20 days, but the second half took nearly two and half years.

Bilingual is not an easy task:

It is very easy to say the work ‘Bilingual’, but it needs lot of effort to picturise it. It needs experienced dialogue writers. Audience should feel fresh while watching the film.

I don’t like to play villain:

I don’t like to play full length villainous role. If my brother Surya plays hero, I am ready to portray villain character.

Next projects:

My next film is under Mani Ratnam’s direction. Entire shooting part of the film has been completed with just 8 days shooting left. I plays military officer role in that film. It’s a nice love story. After this, I am going to do a police story.
