Kareena Kapoor seems to be an auto choice when other apt heroines are not around. We all know that Aishwarya Rai was to play a leading role in Madhur Bandarkar’s ‘Heroine’. And on her inability the auto option was Kareena. Now Tigmanshu Dhulia wanted to venture into a period film based on life history of Meerut Rani Begum Samru. For this movie based on 17-18 century era Rani Mukherjee was considered initially. However Rani Mukherjee’s citing prior commitments turned down the offer. The director’s next stop was Kareena’s house to explain the story. Kareena was quick to give her consent on hearing the story. Incidentally this director Tigmanshu Dhulia had earlier directed movies like ‘Paan Singh Tomar’ and Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster’. The new film is expected to start in September or October.
