Bollywood ace star Aamir Khan started his acting career at age eight as child artist in 1973 ‘Yaadon Ki Baaraat’ and was also seen in the 1974 film ‘Madhosh. A decade after that he made his acting debut as hero in 1984 ‘Holi’ which went unnoticed. After a gap of four years he saw his first success as leading man with ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ in 1988 and successfully completed his 25 years of film journey in 2013. His ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ was released on 29 April, 1988 which turned out to be the biggest box-office hit of the year. He also won is first National Film Award in the category of Special Jury for his role named Raj in the film. This film also made him the heart-throb of millions of girls across the country. As an absolute heartthrob, he ruled the roost for more than a decade with his romantic entertainers like ‘QSQT’, ‘Love Love Love’, ‘Dil’, ‘Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin’, ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar’, ‘Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke’, ‘Rangeela’, ‘Raja Hindustani’, ‘Ishq’, ‘Ghulam’, ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ and ‘Fanaa’. Despite having lover boy image he boldly tried subjects belonging to different genres like ‘Earth’, ‘Sarfarosh’ etc. ‘Lagaan’ took him to next level and there has been no stopping him after that. ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘Taare Zameen Par;, ‘Ghajini’, ‘3 Idiots’, ‘Dhobi Ghaat’, and ‘Talaash’ were all sensational box-office hits, won critical acclaims and lot of pretigious awards.
Celebrating the completion of his 25 glorious years in the Indian film industry, Aamir Khan expressed his joy and happiness. He said, “I’m happy to note that I’ve a quarter pages in the book of 100 years of Indian Cinema. In fact I wanted to make a film marking 100 years of Indian Cinema. However, it did not materialize. Nevertheless I’m appearing in the title song of ‘Bombay Talkies’. Director Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar, Dibakar Banerjee and Zoya Akhtar together are directing this Indian anthology film consisting of four short films. They are making efforts to show all leading stars in the title song. Along with me will be seen in the song was Shah Rukh Khan, Sridevi, Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Karishma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Vidya Balan, Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.” “The film is set for release on May 3”, he added.
