Five years ago Deepika Padukone and director Priyadarshan had a noisy fallout and Deepika opted out of his project ‘Pirates’. The filmmaker was keen to launch Deepika but the actress decided to make her debut through Farah Khan’s ‘Om Shanti Om’. However, there was a cold war between the two until Shah Rukh Khan persuaded Deepika to do an item song in ‘Billu; which was directed by Priyan and produced by Shah Rukh himself under Red Chillies Entertainment banner. The latest reports say that Priyadarshan and Deepika have patched up now and are ready to work together for a comedy based film.
In Priyan’s words: “We broke the ice during the song in ‘Billu’. Now I’ve a role just right for her.” He has roped in Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone for this family comedy flick which will go on the sets from July.
