Bollywood’s Ooh La La girl Viday Balan and UTV CEO Siddharth Roy Kapur got married in Mumbai on Friday. They were in love for two years. Siddharth hails from Punjabi family and Vidya belongs to Kerala region. The wedding ceremony was a private affair and was held at Green Mile Bungalow in Bandra amidst family members of the couple and their close relatives and friends. The wedding festivities kicked off on 11th December with Mehendi ceremony at Vidya Balan’s residence attended by family and friends. The wedding was performed on Friday 14th December, as per the customs of both Punjab and Tamil Nadu. Vidya was dressed in a Tamil traditional style red silk saree and gold ornaments. The pundits have come from Chennai to perform the Tamil wedding style. The guests were served lunch in a typical Tamil traditional style. Sources claim that a grand reception is expected to be in Chennai.
Born in Ottapalam in a Palakkad district of Kerala on 1st January, 1978, Vidya Balan grew up in Chember, Mumbai. While she was pursuing the master’s degree from the University of Mumbai, she entered the movie industry as a lead actress in a Malayalam movie ‘Chakram’ opposite Mohan Lal in 2000 and did quite a few Malayalam films. Later she got a good break with a Bollywood film ‘Parineeta’ for which she even won Filmfare award for Beat Female Debut. Films like ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’, ‘Paa’, ‘No One Killed Jessica’, ‘The Dirty Picture’ and ‘Kahaani’ earned her immense reputation and craze among the movie lovers across India.
