Natakireeti Dr Rajendra Prasad is known for his variety of unique, yet entertaining films. His success formula for being active even at 56 is choosing apt roles that suits his age. Could be well understood from the numbers and varieties of his roles he portrayed in the films during his envious journey spanning 35 years and still counting.

After being successful with ‘Aa Naluguru’ and ‘Mee Sreyobhilashi’ in his second innings, Rajendra Prasad is now all set to appear in a new avatar on the silver screen shortly.  The themes in these films are more than just thought provoking and so would be his latest film ‘Onamalu’ (Manchi Gnapakam Lanti Cinema) which is all set to open in theaters on July 27th through Sunshine Cinema in Andhra Pradesh and BlueSky at overseas.

The theme of ‘Onamalu’ is “Teaching is a noble profession, so one should learn to respect their teacher and be thankful to them always.”  With Rajendra Prasad and Kalyani in the lead, the film depicts the story of an aged tutor Narayana Rao who cherishes his younger days. Narayana Rao (Rajendra Prasad) and his wife (Kalyani), a successful couple, appear to have the perfect life.  Setting the story in a small village with the classic plot points, we must see how the filmmaker Kranti Madhav narrates the story skillfully keeping the audience involved and watchful.  Story is written by Thammudu Sathyam and Khadeer Babu penned the dialogues which are expected to make the audience sit back and become immersed in it.

Kranti Madhav produced and directed this film which is his first in Telugu.  Reports claim that he had designed the film giving Telugu touch in every frame of the film.  For films of this kind, success lies in story narration, dialogues, cinematography, songs and background music along with artists’ performances. The trailers say that cinematographer Hari Anumolu must have brilliantly captured every scene as per the mood of the film. Similarly Koti’s music and Seetarama Sastry’s lyrics in almost every song on this film are filled with amazing amounts of emotion.

In the audio function Rajendra Prasad revealed that Seetarama Sastry referred to many books for penning the climax song.  He claims that story, songs and music are the main soul to this film.  Sirivennela also said that ‘Onamalu’ will be one of Rajendra Prasad’s best movies. No doubt Rajendra Prasad was pegged as one of the finest actors in Indian Cinema.  Most of his films also conveyed good messages to the public and this film will not be an exception.  He belongs to the top actors of the era, known as the classic movie stars and he will continue to be.

Ladies Tailor, Aha Naa Pellanta, Vivaaha Bhojanambu, Bamma Maata Bangaru Baata, April 1 Vidudhala, Appula Appa Rao, Rajendrudu Gajendrudu, Aa Okkati Adakku, Pelli Pusthakam, Mr Pellam, Aa Naluguru, Mee Sreyobhilashi and Quick Gun Murugun are some of his all time hits which every Telugu film lover would love to watch it again and again.  Will ‘Onamalu’ make it to this hit list without those so called masala ingredients that are thought essential to entertain the masses?  Wait and watch!!!
