“Sama-Sam-Buddha”, an expedition from emptiness to enlightenment, one of its kind solo art exhibition by Ms. Anisha Tandon on 10th August 2013 at Muse Art Gallery (Marriott Hotel), inauguration by Sri. Ganta Srinivasa Rao (Honorable Minister for Infrastructure, Investment & Ports, Govt. of A.P) and Smt. Chandana Khan (Special Chief Secretary, Tourism & Culture, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh) is a unique amalgamation of the art of Painting and Ikebana on canvas and also models dressed as Buddhas.
Each of these forms is an expression of creativity. This is an endeavor to capture the spirit of sublimation by three expressions: The first is the pictorial capture of the various moods of Buddha; the Realized Soul associated it with flowers and foliage from nature which has been made perfect by the second form Ikebana – an art originated from Buddhism. Different Ikebana styles based on Ohara School of Ikebana, Japan like Hana-isho, Heika, Moribana, and Landscape are incorporated in the paintings. A short pen picture of the mood completes the third dimension of this series by the artist.
Ms. Anisha Tandon, a multifaceted passionate artist had also done beautiful Ikebana arrangementsusing exotic flowers and foliage with each painting. The exhibition had live models walking around to the tune of soothing music attired as “Buddha and his disciples” and the décor was made to match thetheme of the exhibition. It was a one of its kind solo art exhibition where the guests were seen enjoying the evening as they were lured by artist’s multi creative talent.
