Hyderabad, 8th July 2011:The 87th edition of TTF, a part of India's biggest travel show network, kicked-off today in Hyderabad at the Hitex Exhibition Centre. This year's TTF is the largest ever in the city, almost twice the size of last year. It provides a business opportunity for travel and tourism organisations from all over India and abroad to showcase their products and services to a large cross-section of the travel trade, business and leisure travelers. The fair was inaugurated by Shri. V Vasant Kumar, Hon'ble Tourism Minister of Andhra Pradesh, in the presence of Shri Sanjiv Agarwal, Chairman and CEO of Fairfest Media, organizers of rTF, and a large number Of national and international travel and tourism industry members.
Participating in the show are over 170 domestic and outbound travel organizations from all over India and abroad, from 19 states/union territories and 7 countries, all under one roof. Building on the success and response last year, this year's TTF Hyderabad is the biggest-ever, twice the size of last year, necessitating the move to a much larger venue, the state-of-the-art HITEX Exhibition Center. This year too, it promises to showcase the best deals in travel & tour packages, destinations and hotels. It is supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, the Host State - Andhra Pradesh Tourism, as well as travel industry bodies like Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), and Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI).
With the Indian economy on a strong growth part, travel and tourism organizations are riding the wave with aggressive marketing of attractive offers. Leisure and business travelers can expect to get good bargains in travel packages and hotel rates. TTF is an ideal forum for travel & tourism organizations to strengthen their marketing campaigns for the upcoming peak festive vacation season. It is also a platform for the exhibitors to network withthe travel industry in Andhra Pradesh.
TTF Hyderabad has International participants from Dubai, Egypt, Kenya, Malaysia, Maldives, Turkey and Thailand. Many other International destinations are being promoted by outbound tour operators based in India.
Among the exhibitors in the domestic sector, Gujarat continues its aggressive marketing campaign as Partner State this year too, along with Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, all of whom have colorful pavilions with a large number of private operators coming all the way from their respective states. Karnataka, Kerala and Orissa are the Feature States, also participating alongwith the private sector. The other states/UTs represented in TTF Hyderabad are Goo, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, New Delhi, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
Besides state tourism organizations, other participants in TTF Hyderabad include hotels, resorts, travel agents, tour-operators, cruise-lines, railways, travel portals, publications, travel products etc.
While domestic travel is still the most popular, travel to destinations overseas is also growing very fast. 56% of the TTF Hyderdbad visitors surveyed last year preferred domestic destinations, while 23% expressed their desire to holiday overseas.
That TTF Hyderabad is now a much-awaited travel industry event is borne by the fact that 44% of the visitors last year said that they had visited TTF in the past too.
TTF will provide Hyderabadis with a one-stop shop opportunity to make their domestic and overseas travel plans. It will help them evaluate various travel options and decide on customized plans suiting their budget. The prospective tourist just needs to walk into the Hitex Exhibition Centre, to browse through a vast assortment of information on various travel destinations and options to pick from. One can interact face-to-face with tour operators, travel agents, hoteliers and other travel service providers gather information and make instant bookings in a hassle-free manner. TTF boasts of a committed audience of travel-trade members, and business and leisure travelers.

The 3-day event (8th, 9th and 10th July) is open for visitors from 11 am to 7 pm every day. The opening day is reserved for travel trade visitors, while on the rest of the days, entry is open to all.
About 10,000 visitors are expected to visit the show in Hyderabad, including 2,500 from the travel trade.
Started in the year 1989, TTF is the first ever initiative of its kind in India.
